The first T20I of the Sri Lanka team’s tour of Oman will be played on Thursday (OCT 7).
The match is scheduled to begin at 4 pm (SLST) at the Oman Cricket Academy Stadium.
This tournament is very important for the Sri Lankan team as a warm-up for the T20 World Cup and it will also be important to get an idea about the combination of the team as well as the batting order.
However, spinner Wanindu Hasaranga and fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera will not play today since they are currently in UAE to take part in the Indian Premier League.
It is reported that Kusal Janith Perera, who has recovered from an injury, will also be rested from today’s match.
The Oman team is led by Zeeshan Maqsood, while Duleep Mendis, the manager of the victorious Sri Lankan team in the 1996 World Cup, serves as the head coach.
Additionally, Ruwan Kalpage, a former Sri Lankan fielding coach, contributes to the Oman team as a consultant.
On the 9th of October, the second and last T20I between the two nations is set to take place as a night game.
The local TV broadcasting rights for the tournament are owned by Supreme TV.
