The first T 20I of the Sri Lanka team’s tour of Oman will be played today (7).

The match is scheduled to begin at 4 pm (SLST) at the Oman Cricket Academy Stadium.

This tournament is very important for the Sri Lankan team as a warm-up for the T20 World Cup and it will also be important to get an idea about the combination of the team as well as the batting order.

However, spinner Wanindu Hasaranga and fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera will not play today since they are currently in UAE to take part in the Indian Premier League.

It is reported that Kusal Janith Perera, who has recovered from an injury, will also be rested from today’s match.

Zeeshan Maqsood is the leader of the opposition Oman team.

Duleep Mendis, the manager of the Sri Lankan team that won the World Cup in 1996, is the head coach of the Oman team.

Ruwan Kalpage, a former Sri Lankan fielding coach, also working as a consultant of the Oman team.

The second and final T20 match between the two countries is scheduled to begin on the 9th of October as a night game.

The local TV broadcasting rights for the tournament are owned by Supreme TV.

As Sony Pictures Sports Network owns the Indian regional television broadcasting rights, local audiences will also be able to watch matches on Sony TEN 2.
