Sri Lanka has officially announced their 15-player squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021, scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates and Oman from October 17 to November 14.
Dasun Shanaka will lead the 15-member squad. The 2014 World T20 Champions will begin their World Cup campaign against Namibia on October 18 in Abu Dhabi.
The Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee has named four reserve players for the tournament. Accordingly, Akila Dananjaya, Lahiru Kumara, Pulina Tharanga and Binura Fernando are included in the list of reserve players.
Pathum Nissanka, Ramesh Mendis, and Minod Bhanuka have been excluded.
21-year-old mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana, who recently made his T20I debut against South Africa, has been included in the squad by the selection committee.
Left arm spinner Praveen Jayawickrema, who took 11 wickets on his test debut, is the only uncapped player in the World Cup squad.
