Team West Indies have been fined 20 percent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate in the first T20I against India in Trinidad on Friday, ICC said on Sunday (July 31).
ICC Match Referee Richie Richardson imposed the sanction after the Windies were ruled to be one over short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration.
“Captain Nicholas Pooran plead guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing” ICC said.
