Two people were killed in the grenade explosion that shook Kabul International Cricket Stadium in Afghanistan during a Shpageeza Premier League T 20 match on Friday (29), police said Saturday, a day after the blast.
“The blast happened due to a grenade, two have been killed and some of our countrymen injured,” Kabul police said.
Police investigations are still ongoing to find those involved in the attack.
“The match stopped for a while. After clean-up of the area the match restarted,” Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran told Reuters.
Initially, officials had reported four injuries and no deaths as a result of the explosion.
