Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been added to the Australian Test squad for the series against Sri Lanka.
“He’s been called in as an additional option ahead of the opening Test match in Galle next week as Travis Head recovers from a minor hamstring strain” Cricket Australia said on Thursday.
Travis Head sustained a low-grade hamstring injury while fielding in the fourth Match of the ODI series between the two nations.
Maxwell, whose last Test came five years ago, has played in seven Tests so far, scoring 339 runs. It also includes one century.
The first Test match between Sri Lanka and Australia starts on June 29 in Galle.
