South Africa’s promising young cricketer Dewald Brevis made an instant impact with a solid cameo on his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians on Wednesday.
Brevis, who is dubbed as Baby AB for a playing style similar to AB de Villiers, was the leading run-scorer in the recently concluded U-19 World Cup.
In the game against Kolkata Knight Riders in Pune, Baby AB wasn’t afraid to take on Varun Chakaravarthy.
Picking his wrong’un early, the 18-year-old superstar dispatched Varun Chakaravarthy’s very first ball into the stands.
Brevis, who was bought for Rs 3 crore by MI in the IPL Mega auction, scored 29 runs from 19 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixers in this match.
