The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today (8) announced the award of Central Contracts for the year 2021-22.
Accordingly, they have taken steps to award contracts to 20 players on a ‘single’ contract list instead of the previous separation of red ball and white ball contracts introduced in 2016.
The new contracts are valid for a period of 12 months commencing 1 October 2021.
In addition to the 20 Central contracts, seven more players have been awarded under two categories, namely Increment Contracts and Pace bowling Development Contracts.
Jack Leach, Dawid Malan, and Ollie Robinson have been awarded contracts for the first time.
Liam Livingstone has been awarded an increment contract for the first time after his excellent campaign during the English summer and Tom curran, who held a white-ball contract in 2020/21, returns to an increment contract again.
England central contracts: Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Jofra Archer, Jonny Bairstow, Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler, Zak Crawley, Sam Curran, Jack Leach, Dawid Malan, Eoin Morgan, Ollie Pope, Adil Rashid, Ollie Robinson, Joe Root, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood.
Increment contracts: Dom Bess, Tom Curran, Chris Jordan, Liam Livingstone.
Pace bowling development contracts: Saqib Mahmood, Craig Overton, Olly Stone.
