Team India took control of the 2nd Test in Chepauk against England thanks to Ravichandran Ashwin, who claimed his 29th Test five-for and put the hosts in a dominant position.

India ended the day at 54/1 in their second innings, boasting a lead of 249.

They resumed the day 2 at 300/6 in their 1st innings but could add only 29 runs to their total.

Then India had bundled England out for 134.

Ben Foakes provided admirable resistance with an unbeaten 42.
