A SLC statement on Thursday (28) confirmed that The Chairman of the Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee Ashantha De Mel resigned from the Selection Committee with immediate effect, citing personal reasons.
“We respect Ashantha’s decision and thank him for the services he rendered to Sri Lanka Cricket during his tenure as the Chairman of the Cricket Selection Committee’’ said Ashley De Silva, CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket.
Last week De Mel resigned as Sri Lanka Cricket team manager citing personal reasons.
