New Zealand have made a late change to their T20I squad against UAE, with right-arm pacer Blair Tickner to skip the series due to family reasons.
According to a press release issued by New Zealand Cricket, Tickner has been withdrawn from the Squad to allow him to be at home with his wife and new born daughter
“We’re a family environment and after speaking with Blair we fully support him being at home with Sarah and young Florence.” New Zealand coach Gary Stead said.
“The birth of a child is a special time and we’re glad to be able to support Blair in being at home.”
Fellow quick Jacob Duffy will replace Tickner in the squad and travel to Dubai later today (August 14).
“Jacob’s been part of many BLACKCAPS squads in the past and has always acquitted himself well at international level.” Stead said.
“He’s got good skills and experience and we look forward to welcoming him into our squad in Dubai.”
The three-match T20I series is scheduled to start on August 17 in Dubai.
