Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the Bangladesh men’s squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 to be played from 30th August to 17th September in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Shakib Al Hasan will lead the 17-member squad. BCB have included uncapped batter Tanzid Tamim in the Squad while young batter Shamim Patowary received his maiden call-up to the ODI squad.
Shamim Hossain, Mahedi Hasan and Nasum Ahmed were recalled to the Asia Cup squad.
The tournament, which will be played in fifty-overs format, will kick off in Multan with Pakistan taking on Nepal on August 30.
The 16th edition of the tournament has six teams divided into two groups. Pakistan, India and Nepal are in Group A while Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka are in Group B.
Bangladesh will open its Asia Cup campaign against Co-host Sri Lanka in Kandy on August 31.
