Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have signed England’s Jason Roy for INR 2.8 crore for the IPL 2023 from his base price of INR 1.5 crore, IPL Organizers announced on Wednesday (5).
The signing comes after KKR have suffered a couple of blows.
Skipper Shreyas Iyer has opted to go for a back surgery which is set to rule him out of the IPL 2023, while Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has confirmed his unavailability for the season.
Roy, who earlier featured in the 2017 and 2018 IPL seasons, last played in the 2021 season for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In his IPL Career, he played 13 games, scoring 329 runs including two half-centuries.
