Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Thursday named left-arm seamer Akash Singh as a replacement for injured left-arm seamer Mukesh Choudhary.
Choudhary has been sidelined from the entire IPL 2023 season with a stress fracture of the back.
Akash Singh, who has played for Rajasthan Royals in the past, was a part of India’s Under-19 World Cup team in 2020. He joins CSK for INR 20 Lakh.
CSK will also be without Matheesha Pathirana and Maheesh Theekshana, who will link up with the CSK squad only after the end of Sri Lanka’s tour of New Zealand.
CSK begin their campaign with a match against defending champions Gujarat Titans on Friday.
