Aiden Markram has been appointed as the new T20I captain of South Africa Team, Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced on Monday (6).
He takes over from Temba Bavuma, who stepped down as T20I captain last month.
The 28-year-old previously led South Africa U 19 team to a title win at the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in 2014 and most recently, he lead Sunrisers Eastern Cape to the inaugural SA20 title.
South Africa have also named their ODI and T20I squads for the limited-overs series against West Indies later this month.
Bjorn Fortuin and Sisanda Magala have been included in the T20I squad but former captain Temba Bavuma does not find a spot in the squad.
Meanwhile, Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada have been rested from the ODI squad which has four uncapped players in it. Gerald Coetzee, Tony de Zorzi and Tristan Stubbs earning their maiden ODI call-ups while Ryan Rickelton, who is yet to play ODIs also named in the ODI squad.
