Australia have confirmed that stand-in captain Steve Smith will continue to lead the team for the fourth and final Border-Gavaskar Test against India.
Australian captain Pat Cummins departed the India tour following the second Test and he will remain in Sydney where his mother is ill with breast cancer and is in palliative care.
No decision has been made yet on his availability for the ODI series of the India tour, which begins on 17 March in Mumbai.
Smith stood in as captain for Australia in the 3rd Test and led his side to their first win on tour.
The fourth Test match will be played from March 9 to 13 in Ahmedabad.
