South Africa fast bowler Anrich Nortje has been released, as a precaution, from the Proteas Test squad against West Indies, Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced on Monday (06).
“Proteas fast bowler Anrich Nortje has been released, as a precaution, from the Test squad after experiencing mild groin discomfort during the first Betway Test. No replacement has been named” CSA said in an official release.
He picked 5/36 and 1/48 in the first game which the host won by 87 runs.
The second Test match is scheduled to start next Wednesday (8) in Johannesburg.
