India pacer Harshal Patel is all set to miss the Asia Cup, which will be held in United Arab Emirates from August 27 to September 11.
Patel, 31, is currently with the Indian team in the USA for the T20I series against West Indies but did not play in the first three games.
He has been ruled out of the remainder of the T20I series after failing to recover from a rib injury.
“Harshal Patel has not fully recovered from his rib injury and is ruled out of the remaining two T20Is against West Indies.” BCCI said on Saturday (6).
The Asia cup squad is expected to be announced on August 8.
The rib injury also puts him at risk of missing out on the T20 World Cup in October and November as the injury needs four to six weeks of rest and rehab.
